Volodymyr Patyk (1926-2016) was the Ukrainian painter, landscape painter, master of still life. Born in the village Chornyi Ostriv, Lviv region. He studied at the art and industrial school in Lviv (1941-1944) under M. Fedyuk, M. Osinchuk, and O. Lishchinskyi. He graduated from the Lviv Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts (1953), where he studied with Selskyi, Sylvestrov, and Bokshai. Took part in republican (since 1956), all-Union (since 1968) and personal exhibitions. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 1958). Honored Artist of Ukraine (since 1996). Laureate of the National Award named after T. Shevchenko (1999) for the series of works "Land of Shevchenko". People's Artist of Ukraine (since 2006). One of the most prominent figures in Ukrainian painting of the second half of the 20th century, a bright representative of the Lviv school of painting.
