Mykola Oleksiiovych Shekhonin (1882-1970) was a Kyiv architect, artist, graphic artist. Born in St. Petersburg. Graduated from the St. Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineers (1907). Moved to Kyiv (1908). Under his leadership, about 20 buildings were built in Kyiv (1910-1930s). Stylistically, Shehonin's works belong to modern and neo-empire. Lecturer (1909—1941) at Kyiv Construction Technical College, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Dnipropetrovsk Construction Institute, Kyiv Art Institute (architectural design and drawing). Developed the general plan of Kyiv (1920-1930s). Professor (1930). Head of the Second Architectural Art Workshop in Kyiv (1932). Left the USSR (1943), moved and lived in Argentina (since 1948).
