Biography of the author
Mykola Babak (born 1954) is a Ukrainian artist, writer, and collector. He was born in the village of Voronintsy of Cherkasy region. He worked as a graphic artist at the Cherkasy association "Azot", then - at the Cherkasy factory of art advertising. He worked on monumental projects in Russia, returned to Ukraine (1986). Participates in group (1986) and personal (1997) exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1990), Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine (2010), Honored Artist of Ukraine (2004), People's Artist of Ukraine (2016). The artist's works are stored in the NHMU, the directorates of exhibitions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine and the NSU. Works in co-authorship with Eugene Matveev in the art tandem BM Babak-Matveev (2014). Lives and works in Cherkasy.
