Babak Petro (1921-1973) is a Ukrainian artist. He worked in the field of easel painting. He was born in the village of Mohnachy, Chernihiv Region. He studied at the Kyiv Art Institute (1946-1952) with K. Trokhymenko, V. Kostetskyi, and H. Melikhov. Father of artists Oleksandr Babak and Vyacheslav Babak. Took part in the Second World War, was awarded the medal "For combat merits". Took part in Republican and All-Union exhibitions (since 1951). Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 1962). Lived and worked in Kyiv.
