Biography of the author
Yurii Khymych (1928-2003) was a Ukrainian painter, graphic artist and architect. Graduated from the Kyiv Engineering and Construction Institute (1959), postgraduate studies at the Academy of Architecture of the Ukrainian SSR (1959). Teachers - O. Shovkunenko, S. Yerzhikovskiy and V. Zabolotnyi. He taught drawing and painting at the Kyiv Engineering and Construction Institute (1964-1984). Honored artist of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, honorary member of the Academy of Architecture of Ukraine. The author of many series of works in which he emotionally reproduces the artistic and aesthetic features of monuments of ancient architecture. Taught drawing and painting at National Academy of Architecure and Arts (since 1986), professor (1989).
