Petr Nilus (Petro Nilus) (1869-1943) - Ukrainian painter, writer, art critic. He studied at the Odesa Art School (1883-1889) under Kostandi, later at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Member of Peredvizhniki Group (1899). He was elected head of the newly formed Union of Artists, Sculptors and Architects in Odesa (1917). Lived in exile (since 1920). Master of genre scenes.
