Anatoly Turovsky (b. 1926) - Ukrainian painter and sculptor. Born in Kyiv. He studied at the Kyiv Institute of Art (1946-1952). Works in easel painting and sculpture. He participated in national exhibitions (since 1957). Member of the Union of Artists of USSR (1965-1979). He emigrated to United States (1979). As an artist, in opposition to so-called "avant-garde", or rather, in resistance. Author of a number of sculptures (Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Mtsensk), one (Our Planet) located in Florida, and others - in New Jersey. Author of 5 books of poetry and 2 books of prose. In his work Turovsky blends traditional painting with modern style and bright pronounced texture.
