Yermilov Vasyl (1894-1968) was the Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, monumentalist, designer, representative of the Ukrainian avant-garde. He was born in Kharkiv. He studied at the Kharkiv educational and craft workshop of decorative painting (1905-1909) under L. Trakal; Kharkiv Art School (1910-1911) under M. Fedorov; to the private studio of E. Shteinberg, O. Groth (1913-1914); Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1913); studios of I. Mashkov and P. Konchalovskyi (1912-1913; Moscow). Participant of exhibitions ("Society of Kharkiv Artists", etc.), international (since 1909). He was a member of the Kharkiv group "Union of Seven" (1917). Member of the "Association of Revolutionary Art of Ukraine" (ARMU) (1927-1932), the Kharkiv organization of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 1939). He taught at Kharkiv Art Technical College (1921-1922), Kharkiv Art Institute (1922-1935; 1963-1967). Lived in Kharkiv.
