Kalchenko Mykita (born 1954) is a Ukrainian artist and sculptor. He was educated as a historian and graduated from the Faculty of History of the University of Kyiv (1977). He received his primary creative education in the art studio of his own mother, Halyna Kalchenko. He worked as the head of the sculpture department of the Kyiv Sculpture Factory (1981-1987). Since 1993 he has also been engaged in wood carving. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 2009), sculpture section. Participant in all-Ukrainian art exhibitions (since 2000). The main direction in art is figurative realistic sculpture. The artist prefers animalistics, domestic and historical genres. Works in the technique of bronze casting and wood carving. Artistic handwriting is characterized by sharpened psychology, sometimes grotesque interpretation of images. Lives and works in Kyiv.
