Oleksii Markytan (1959-2017) was the Ukrainian artist. He was born in the city of Mykolaiv in the family of an amateur artist, a master of decorative and applied art Vitalii Markytan. Graduated from the Art and Graphic Faculty of the Odesa Pedagogical Institute named after K. D. Ushinskyi (1982). He started his creative activity in 1985. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 1989). He taught composition and the psychology of artistic creativity at the Mykolaiv branch of the Kyiv University of Culture and Arts; drawing and painting at Mykolaiv Higher Professional School of Technology and Design and Mykolaiv Municipal Academic College. Participant of all-Ukrainian and international art exhibitions (since 1988), more than 20 personal exhibitions (in Ukraine and abroad). The Soviart Center of Contemporary Art included Markytan in the list of TOP-20 Ukrainian artists of contemporary art. Individual canvases of the author are stored in the National Art Museum of Ukraine (Kyiv), Mykolaiv and Odesa Art Museums, Lviv Art Gallery.
