Mane-Kats (Manya, Emmanuel Leizerovich Kats) (1894-1962) - Ukrainian, Israeli and French painter and sculptor. Born in Kremenchuk. Studied at the art school in Vilnius, the Kiev Art School, the National School of Fine Arts (Paris) with professors F. Cormon and M. Dobuzhinsky. Settled in Paris (1922), later received French citizenship. Participant of World War II. After escaping from captivity in 1940-1945, he lived in New York. Manet-Kats's solo exhibitions were held in New York, Paris, Montreal, Tel Aviv, Brussels, Johannesburg, Buenos Aires, Strasbourg, London, Mexico City, Geneva and other cities.
