Biography
Kholodny Petro (junior) (1902-1990) is a Ukrainian artist. Born in Kyiv. He studied at the Ukrainian Studio of Plastic Arts in Prague (1926–1927), at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1928–1934). After studio trips to Italy and France (1935), he became an assistant at the Academy (with M. Kotarbinsky). Taught drawing and tempera technique. The author of illustrations for the "Sunflower" almanac. Member of the Association of Independent Ukrainian Artists and the art group "Spokiy". He emigrated to the USA (1950), where he became an honorary member of the Association of Ukrainian Artists in America. The formation of Pyotr Kholodny's creative method was affected by the influence of modern currents, in particular, cubism and constructivism, which brings him closer to the school of Mykhailo Boychuk. Participant of numerous exhibitions in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Belgium, Switzerland.
