Biography
Brovdi Ivan (1939-2023) — Ukrainian sculptor, painter. Born in the village of Onok, Zakarpattia region. Graduated from the Uzhhorod School of Applied Arts. Member of the National Union of Ukrainian Artists (since 1968). Honored Teacher of Ukraine (1970). Bronze Medal of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy of the USSR (1971). Laureate of the D. Vakarov Prize (1972). Honored Artist of Ukraine (1997). Laureate of the A. Erdeli and J. Bokshay Prizes (1998). People's Artist of Ukraine (2008). Honorary Citizen of the village of Onok, Vynohradiv district, Ukraine (2010), Mukachevo (2011). Laureate of the J. Bokshay and A. Erdeli Prizes for the sculptural composition "1998. A Year of Trouble and Trials" (2012). The artist's works are kept in museums of Ukraine (Beregovo, Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, I. Frankivsk, Rivne, Ternopil) and private collections around the world.
