Biography of the author
Krvavych Dmytro (1926-2005) — Ukrainian sculptor, teacher and art critic. Born in Dobromyl, Lviv region. Graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1953), I. Severa's workshop. Participant of numerous exhibitions (since 1954). Worked as the head of the sculpture department of the Lviv Art Gallery (1955—1957). Taught art history at the children's art school, Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1962 — head of the sculpture department, 1976 — professor, 1989—2001 — vice-rector for scientific work). Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine (1972). People's Artist of Ukraine (1990). Lecturer at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Rome (1991—1994). People's Artist of Ukraine. Professor at the Lviv Academy of Arts.
